A morning suit can be rented for €110.-.The rental suit consists of a long black coat with rounded tailcoats in the front, a grey waistcoat and striped trousers. With this suit you can rent a grey neck tie and in case of a wedding of attending the races in Ascot, a grey or black top hat and grey gloves. The shirt is a white dress shirt with double cuff and cufflinks.

A morning suit is the traditional dress for weddings. The groom and other male guests then wear a long black jacket , grey waistcoat and striped trousers. In the Netherlands, a morning suit is also the appropriate attire to wear for Ambassadors to present their credentials to the King and when invited to the opening of parliament in September. (Prinsjesdag) Please reserve well in advance since these occasions are always attended by a lot of people. Preferably at least three weeks in advance.
Our best advice is to make an appointment for a fitting a few weeks in advance. This suit will then be reserved for you, for the date of your occasion. One day in advance you can pick up the suit and one day after the event we expect you to return the suit. Please note that the shop is closed on Sundays and Mondays so for an event in the weekend, picking up is possible on Fridays or Saturdays and returning on Tuesdays. Do you need to hire for a longer period? This is possible at a little extra charge.
At first the morning suit was only used in the morning for horse riding. The cut of the tailcoats was easier for riding without all the excess fabric.Thereafter the morning coat became the substitude for the normal formal overcoat which was worn over the normal suit around the turn of the century. Nowadays the morningcoat is stil only worn untill 6 P.M. or sunset. Therefor the English still use the term “Morning Dress” for the dress code at weddings or the races at Ascot.
